Update: 11th May
This is not the end, this is not even the beginning of the end!!!
Well, in a way. Agroyesum is the last hospital of our deployment. Yet the fun has just started.
On the Plan: Building a dental chair, changing from the old fire-in-a-pit-system for infectious waste to the modern already-built-incinerator-system that is gasfueld and made for the entire hospital, going over the documentation system with the maintenance crew to ensure even better performance, plan a maintenance department in the old laundry or think up an entire new building block and finally assisting with repairs of medical devices.
We first started this morning with showing Annika around and introducing her to the staff. Also we had to change my name in all the official positions to Peter. The hospital has vastly improved since we have last been here. The three generators are in working order, the new sisters block has another story, the fire pit is deeper, bigger and not accessable for small being. The big incinerator has gas and working fan, we will find out tomorrow what the problem is and try to find a solution.
Eric, the estate manager, takes fantastic care of the maitnenance list. He recieves monthly reports from Oxy and Lights (the two hospital electricians) and Annakin (the outside electrican) and enters the information in the list. We will check a few things and then be on our way
The main challenge lies in the dental unit. The original plan as well as the furniture were designed for a 3,87 m wide room. Our room is missing 87 cm of that. We also need to change some tubes and wires in the foundation and the walls. It’s not gonna be easy but as always: We’ll have a look at that!
