Arrival in Techiman
On Monday we got picked up from Alonso, our driver to Techiman. On our way we picked up Sam, our Ghanaian team member and some bush-rats for eating. Seven hours later, finally (still alive) in the Holy Family Hospital we first checked out the workshop and talked to some technicians Arne “Peter” still knew from his last projects. Then we had dinner with the team, the German doctors, and some workers from the hospital in a bar which is owned by one of them. The next morning we got breakfast at seven and started our guided tour by Emmanuel around the hospital. He showed us the different wards and the new Emergency they are building right now. We also got to know so many other workers and technicians of the hospital. Also an other team member of Teog Ghana, Samuel, arrived. We checked out some works the maintenance team was doing and how they manage with things, then we had a little lunch break to settle down a bit. After that we showed the maintenance team our special electrical safety device which we brought from Germany to check on all medical devices if they are safe to use or not. Actually we ourself found out that we have to find out how to actually explain it to them and that its not enough to now how it actually works. So we used the whole afternoon to prepare ourselves to present the device tomorrow so everyone knows how to use it and why. Sam had to leave our team for some days because he had to arrange some things for his national service. When we finished our preparation for the next day, we got Pasta with tomato sauce and had some good chats with the german doctors and Samuel.
