7th & 8th March – Send me an angle
Our last two days had able sunshine, slight winds and steady work flow.
Now our foundation has the frame and truss for the corrugated iron roof, three layers of the waste yard and a door frame. Furthermore the outer wall of the incinerator is plastered to a degree that clasiffies as borderline art. Our external bricklayer spend an entire day perfercting and smoothing. With our water level in his supplies the results are stunning.
Our Welders spend most of the days cutting and welding and cutting and adjusting and welding. Pretty straight forewards stuff. Straight rods, straight truss, straight poles. Sometimes a bit of grinding to fit a square pipe to a round pole. Throughout to process they asekd questions about our plans and discussed possible changes, that were often implemented. When it came to the slant support beams, we assumed they would simply make them by intuition. Instead they again rifeled through our manuals to find the paper that had all the angles for each slant beam in it. And fell in love with it. Every cut after that, every line drawn was done with this handy piece of equipemnt.
On friday breakfast brought another supprise. There was a wedding and we were invited. Since we couldn’t let the construction rest, Arne was send to walk there ( about 1,5 hours) as a delegation and Henning had his first day as main supervisor of the counstruction. Both fullfilled their duties and Arnes stomach got filled as well 😉
With stuffed regards,
Arne and Henning
