Arrival in Agomanya

September 17th

Yesterday we got picked up at 9 o’clock from our driver to get to the next hospital. After quite a bumpy ride we got to Kumasi and met the administrator of the hospital in Agroyesum to tell him about our work and their results. We also brought Sam back home and wanted to pick up Samuel, who already joined us in Techiman. This was more difficult than we thought because Samuels’ luggage was put in a different bus and it was quite tough to get it back.

After getting back on the road and a change of our driver in Nkawkaw we still had some distance ahead of us. When we finally arrived in Agomanya it was already 7 pm. But the late arrival was actually not too bad because it gave us a breathtaking view of blue and orange city lights glowing in the distance on our descend from the hilltops. We although have to stay in some kind of hotel because the normal rooms TeoGs stay in we already occupied.

So today we started off by visiting the hospital and especially the generators. They have two bigger ones with only one minor problem. The technician will come tomorrow so we will talk to him about the issue with the AVR. Also we will do an oil change and oil filter change with the hospital technician and we want to take a look at some medical equipment and the sterilization. Today we also checked out the incinerator of the hospital which they use daily and burns very nicely.

After the visit we walked back through the city and looked up some details about the generators and the proper cabling. Additionally we did some administrative work and proof checked one more time our work schedule for the next and last hospital in Kpandu.
