Update: 26th October
Day 5
After we had finished our reporting yesterday, we clarified as usual the question: who want´s to be the first to take a shower? It was me. I fetched my towel, hurried to the shower and … noticed that there was no water. Possibly a consequence of the Dumpsaw (blackout, we don’t know how to write it, but google said it’s correct, the fith entrance was Annikas last blog in which she wrote it the same way 🙂 ) an hour before. So we rescheduled our showering to this morning. Luckily there was still some bananacake left for breakfast.
Arrived at the hostpital we started a morning walk to several departments, visiting the people in charge finding out details about their opinions, challanges they are facing and their suggestions to improve our work. The more we talk to the people the more we understand the importance of our work. With new motivation we returned to our tasks at the maintenance office. To the joy of the nurses we delivered the badly needed incubators and started to repaired the broken phototherapy lamp.
Having finished our (as allways very delicious) lunch Annika and I began visiting several departments to check and complete the inventory list which we are going to continue tomorrow. The last hour of our work we organised a meeting of the maintenance department. The goal of this talk was to find out the opinions of Emmanuel and his coworkers about our stay and their suggestions for improvement.
All in all the feedback was very positiv, everybody is very thankful about our stay. This new knowledge is a very good condition to reach our goals for the next few days.
After that we enjoyed a short walk around the hospital area. It was very nice to take some time chatting and relaxed joking before we started our usual reporting.
