The Prepaid Water Meter Project is a solution to the increasing water demand of the growing population of Asesewa. The public water infrastructure is not sufficient for the 21k people living in Asesewa, so the water is rationed. Since the public water is free there is a lack of cash, which can be used to repair the pumps, pipes and electric control units. For this project we built a water tower on one of the hills in Asesewa and drilled a borehole in the next valley. The water is pumped to the water tower with an electric pump. From there the water is delivered to two selling points. Shopowners next to selling points via a prepaid system and sell it to the costumers for 5cent per 25l. With that money the System can be maintained and gives a return on the investment. That money can be used to finance new Technology Without Borders Projects. The project is managed by our local member Joseph Maudjorm, who is overseeing everthing involved. That way the project is sustainable and con hopefully be expanded in the future
