About the Project
Situation
Berekum is located in the north-western Bono region of Ghana. The Holy Family Hospital there has 138 beds and around 300 employees. TeoG projects have already been carried out several times at this location, including the introduction of the TeoG Swift App in 2022 to document maintenance and repair work.
Eikwe, a small town on the coast, has the St. Martin de Porres Hospital with a capacity of 175 beds and 200 employees. This hospital has also been visited by a TeoG team in the past for the maintenance of medical equipment
Ho is located in the Eastern Volta Region of Ghana. A new local regional group was recently founded at the University of Health and Allied Science.
Project content
During our three-week project assignment in Ghana, we want to visit all three locations for one week each. We will start with the Holy Family Hospital in Berekum, where we will also involve the medical staff through the report system in addition to the TeoG Swift app that has already been introduced. We also want to find out more on site about the planned expansion of the workshop and the current situation of the incinerator. The second stay will be in Eikwe, where we learned from a German doctor about the necessary support in the area of maintenance at St. Martin de Porres Hospital in Eikwe. The hospital does not have an existing documentation system, which is why part of this project is also a preliminary investigation. In addition, we will try to assist with the repair of medical equipment and inspect the incinerator that has been built on site. At the end, we want to spend a few more days in Ho. The newfound contact with the regional group in Ho is intended to strengthen cooperation with local TeoG members. Especially in the future, we want to find direct and quick solutions to existing problems on site and support future projects. Getting to know each other and exchanging ideas is therefore the main focus of the project.Support and contact
