Initial Situation
The regional group in Bayangam is active at the kindergarten, elementary school and technical high school in Bayangam. Last year, the RG carried out several activities at these schools, for example the renovovation of the kindergarten and the optimization of waste collection at the technical high school.
Project Goals
To further increase awareness and attract new members, the RG is planning a summer camp for children of different age groups at schools in Bayangam. The planned activities for the children include a workshop on sustainable agriculture, a painting workshop for the youngest children, a soccer tournament, a workshop on improving agribusiness and an IT workshop for young female farmers. There are also plans to continue the renovation work in the kindergarten.
A local farmer who practises sustainable agriculture will help with the agricultural workshops and work with the regional group in the long term.
TeoG Summer Camp 2025
Our first summer camp in Bayangam took place in August. Organized by the regional group in Cameroon, more than 30 children were able to take part in ten days of activities focusing on agriculture, medicine, and crafts. These included craft workshops, a first aid course, and a group visit to the market for locally grown fruit and vegetables. Of course, there was also plenty of fun and games as well as sporting activities! The team was supported by Edgar and Rosi from the Rhine-Main regional group and by teachers from the Bayangam kindergarten, where a renovation project was carried out last year. Further improvements are planned for this year. We would like to thank all participants and helpers and are already looking forward to the next summer holidays, when we plan to offer another summer camp with new workshops!

TeoG Summer Camp 2026 in Bayangam, Cameroon
Learning, discovering and creating together
In August 2026, the TeoG Summer Camp 2026 took place in Bayangam, Cameroon. Organized by Technology without Borders (TeoG), the holiday project provided children and young people with a safe and welcoming environment for learning, creativity, physical activity and community.
Under the motto “Technology without Borders – Solutions applied together”, the camp was about more than simply providing activities during the school holidays. The children had the opportunity to develop practical skills, take responsibility and explore important topics such as environmental awareness, health, hygiene and community life.
Learning through creativity and practical activities
The camp offered a varied program combining educational, creative and practical activities. Through painting, crafts and different workshops, the children were encouraged to explore their creativity and develop practical and artistic skills.
Environmental education was another important focus. Through gardening activities, participants learned about responsible use of natural resources and the importance of plants, agriculture and food production for the local community.
Sports and physical activities were also an essential part of the program. Football and various team and group games encouraged physical activity while promoting teamwork, fairness and mutual respect. Footballs, sports bibs and football goals were purchased specifically for the camp.
Health, animals and agriculture
Health and hygiene were also addressed during the camp. Basic health and hygiene practices were discussed, and a first-aid kit was provided to ensure that minor injuries could be treated appropriately during the activities.
During a visit to a local farm, the children gained practical insights into animal husbandry and agriculture. They learned about caring for animals and their importance to agricultural production and everyday life in the region.
Community and cultural exchange
Strengthening a sense of community was one of the central goals of the Summer Camp. Playing, learning and exploring together gave the children the opportunity to make new friends, learn from one another and develop social responsibility.
Local history and culture were also part of the program. A visit to the museum of the Chefferie of Batoufa introduced the children to the history and traditions of the region. Another visit to Claude Njiké Bergeret, known as the “White Queen”, provided an opportunity to learn about the region’s history and international development cooperation.
Working with the local community
People from the local community with relevant practical knowledge were involved in several workshops and activities. They supported the children and shared their skills and experience.
This approach helped make the Summer Camp a community-based project – not simply a program delivered for children, but an initiative developed and implemented together with people from the local community.
Building a future together
The TeoG Summer Camp 2026 was more than a holiday program. It brought together education, creativity, sports, environmental awareness, practical skills and cultural exchange, creating opportunities for personal development and community building.
The project demonstrates how local cooperation and targeted support can create meaningful opportunities for children and young people to gain new experiences, knowledge and perspectives.
